Je suis biaisé. J'ai participé a l'élaboration de la programmation du FIMAV 2011 comme conseiller artistique. Cela dit, je suis libre d'en dire ce que je veux et c'est ce que je ferai.
I am biased. I played a part in the development of FIMAV 2011's programming as artistic advisor. That being said, I am free to say whatever I want, and I intend to do just that.

Encore une très belle température, et une très belle journée de programmation au demeurant.
Another beautiful day, outside and inside.
PAUL PLIMLEY
Un pianiste volubile, généreux, parfois tendre, au parcours jazz mais aux intérêts vastes. Une belle entrée en matière.
A talkative, generous pianist, tender at times, with a jazz background but a wide range of interests. A fine day opener.
LA PART MAUDITE
Autant j’aime le bassiste et le trompettiste de ce groupe - tous deux ont développé une approche originale à l’aide d’effets - autant j’ai trouvé le batteur quelconque. Ce dernier manque totalement de créativité. Dommage. Ça aurait pris un Weasel Walter ou un Chris Corsano pour épauler le travail de Mivil Deschênes et de Philippe Battikha.
I loved this band’s bassist and trumpeter - they both have developed a unique effects-laden sound - but the drummer was mediocre. He totally lacked the creativity the others displayed. Too bad. La Part Maudite needs a drummer like Weasel Walter or Chris Corsano to support the impressive work of Mivil Deschênes and Philippe Battikha.
NELS CLINE - NORTON WISDOM
Féérique. De splendides soundscapes de guitare et un peintre époustouflant, qui peint, efface et repeint sur un tableau blanc rétroéclairé. Un moment fort du festival.
Enchanting. Gorgeous guitar soundscapes and a stunning painter who paints, erases and paints again on a backlit white board. A FIMAV 2011 highlight.
RICHARD PINHAS - MERZBOW - WOLF EYES
Très bruyant, très ambiant aussi, étonnamment. J’avais souvent l’impression de ne pas entendre Pinhas, mais allez savoir. Wolf Eyes ont été particulièrement brillants, s’intégrant parfaitement dans ce drone. Et Merzbow, aussi discret ait-il été sur scène, était en grande forme. Le Colisée de Victoriaville a tremblé et l’assistance a apprécié.
Very noisy but surprisingly ambient too. I often had the feeling that Pinhas was lost in the mix, but who knows. Wold Eyes were particularly brilliant and perfectly integrated to the drone. And Merzbow, as stoic as he may be on stage, was in great shape. The Colisée shook and the audience liked it.
ERIKM - FM EINHEIT
Einheit est une légende et la légende a livré la marchandise: énorme ressort sur cadre attaqué au marteau et à la perceuse électrique, gravier versé et briques cassées sur une feuille de tôle - la totale. ErikM a légèrement peiné à suivre le pas, je le sentais pas tout à fait dans son élément, mais c’était un duo solide et une finale percurtante pour cette journée somme toute forte en décibels.
Einheit is a legend, and the legend delivered: a huge spring mounted on a metal frame and played with hammer and electric drill; gravel poured and bricks pulverized over sheet metal - the whole shebang. ErikM seemed to had a little bit of difficulty following the pace; he didn’t seem completely in his element. But this was a strong duo and a hard-hitting finale for a high-decibel day.
